One of the best ways to learn more about the people of Ireland and England is to choose homestay accommodation. Family life is informal and the people are welcoming, friendly and talkative, so you will have plenty of opportunities to practise your English.

Our homestays are carefully chosen by our Accommodation Officers and all homestays have been visited and approved by us. You will live in a house with a garden in a pleasant suburb close to good public transport. Students travel to and from school by bus or train.

Having chosen a homestay suitable for you, details will be sent and we would suggest you make contact with them to confirm your arrival time. You will have a light breakfast and evening meal in your homestay.

Dinner usually takes place between 6pm and 7pm which allows you to join our evening programme or take part in some of our activities during the long summer evenings.

In CES Wimbledon accommodation is on half board basis.

Enrolment Details

Admissions Policy

All students, irrespective of nationality, race, gender, sexual orientation, and political beliefs are welcomed to Centre of English Studies. All applications are dealt with on a case by case basis and there may be some very rare circumstances when we feel it is not in the student’s interest to be offered a place in the school. This is extremely rare however. Such circumstances are outlined below. Applications are accepted via post, email, the school website, or in person. All students must complete an application form which includes full personal information, course requested, and any allergies or special requests for the attention of the Accommodation Officer if accommodation is requested. Information regarding nationality and visa status is required from the student. Students with financial sponsorship are required to send proof of sponsorship for an English language course before we can issue enrolment documentation. Any students without financial sponsorship are required to pay a deposit of £100. If a student requests documents to be sent via DHL, a deposit of £165 will be required. The school may decline to accept a student if:  we feel we cannot meet the needs of the student on medical or disability grounds, although every attempt will be made to do so.  we feel there is a suspicion that the student will not comply with the requirements of their visa status.  we feel that a student may pose a risk to the integrity of the UK border.  we fell that false documentation has been submitted in support of an application. The above list represents a sample of the reasons why admission may be denied and is not exhaustive.
